Make sure to stop by The Old Cedar Stump for a peek into the land’s logging past and a photo-op with the kids who are sure to be in awe! Take a walk to the Mill District at the crest of the Gnome Trail and you can’t miss the stump.

Visitors can see large notches on the outer perimeter that notate where planks were used by loggers to stand on while they used a 2-person saw to painstakingly fell each tree.

The Old Cedar Stump has a roof built on it to protect the stump from the elements as one of the few remnants of the old-growth forest that used to cover the coast. Take a look in and around the stump for a glimpse into the past.
