Wild mushrooms are on the menu! Have you ever wanted to hunt for mushrooms but didn’t know where to start?
Seabrook has partnered with Michael, Pacific Northwest foraging pro and founder of Wild Spores & More, to offer guided mushroom foraging in and around Seabrook this Fall with his friend and fellow guide, Dan, owner of Conscious Collectors Cooperative. Some people may remember seeing Michael as a merchant at the Seabrook Saturday Markets, too.
Meet Your Mushroom Guides
Michael has been on the hunt for mushrooms throughout the Pacific Northwest since 2012. With Michael as your field guide, you’ll receive a fun and educational orientation on mushroom foraging before venturing through the beautiful forests of Seabrook in search of a variety of mushrooms. Hello, golden-brown chanterelles!
For Michael, mushroom foraging first started out as a hobby and grew into the full-time business where he delivers only the best products to restaurants from Seattle all the way to Portland. He enjoys sharing his passion with others and can’t wait to show you everything there is to know about gathering mushrooms and even tips with what to do with them afterwards!
Dan grew up in the Puget Sound and has been an avid outdoorsmen throughout his life. After a few serious skateboarding injuries, he transitioned his hobby into the less risky activity of mushroom foraging, along with gaining interest in other plants, trees, and other forest ecology.
Almost a decade later into his journey of exploring fungi and forestry, Dan enjoys sharing and inspiring others with what he has learned. Check out more of Dan’s insight into the world of fungi on his Instagram.
