NEW SHOPPING EXPERIENCES ON THE WASHINGTON COAST

The Summer of ’19 will be remembered as a tipping point at Seabrook. This year we are doubling the number of shops and restaurants with 10-13 new businesses opening their doors, many of which will be the place to be during the summer. Here’s a quick look at what’s open, what’s coming, and what not to miss in the coming months.

MAGNOLIAS

Magnolias Boutique offers a wide assortment of clothing to fit any woman’s unique sense of style. All clothing, shoes and accessories are carefully selected with customers’ needs in mind. Magnolias is a great place to create the perfect new wardrobe, pick up a signature piece, or grab the best jeans you’ve ever worn. Find Magnolias in its brand new location on Market Street. VALLEY & ROSE FLOWER TRUCK

Welcoming you to Market Street (and sometimes cruising around to other Seabrook neighborhoods) you will now find the adorable Valley & Rose Flower Truck! Its vintage charm and classic design make it a Seabrook staple from the get go. Offering fresh flowers in premade or custom bouquets, the flower truck allows customers to get creative and enjoy different kinds of flowers and color palletes. The fun does not stop there. JOIE DES LIVRES

The joy of books has arrived in Seabrook! Joie Des Livres is open and they are filling the shelves with all of the wonderful books you could imagine. At Joie Des Livres, you’ll find a wide selection of books, games, puzzles and quality novelty products. Kids of all ages can enjoy the reading nook too – just pick up a book and kick back. Stop by during your stay and find your treasure at Joie Des Livres.

BROOKLETS

Enter the magical world of toys, fun games, puzzles, beach toys, skateboards, and anything else kids young and old can imagine.

Grab an adorable kid-sized shopping cart and let your kids find their favorites. You’ll find everything from the mermaid corner, featuring the ever popular mermaid tails perfect for a dip in the pool or the ocean, to the kid’s performance stage where young singers and actors can start building their craft under the bright lights. Oh, and look behind the curtains….you might find what is sure to be a kid favorite – the Glow Room! Neon colors, space themed toys and stickers, and a world of imagination await in this hidden kid’s nook.

SUMMER EVENTS HAPPENING AT SEABROOK

Summer visitors begin arriving by Memorial Day weekend, but July through Labor Day is the actual busy season. That’s when the summer scene hits its peak, with sunset concerts, farmer’s markets, and special events. Here are a few summer events you want to mark on your calendar.

SATURDAY MARKETS

Many flock to Seabrook to enjoy the authentic natural beauty, true coastal cuisine, and its charming streets decorated with lush trees, twinkling lights and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. One popular summer event that bring locals and visitors to Seabrook is the Saturday Markets, which has become a time honored-tradition over the years and a staple in the Seabrook community. As the Washington Coast’s largest farmer’s market, Seabrook’s Saturday Markets draw in thousands of visitors from around the region to the beach town who stroll through the market to browse and shop for fresh produce, local artisan food, unique craft and goods, fresh flowers and much more.

PORCH ILLUMINATION

Our annual Independence Day Celebration falls on the eve of July 4th! Guests and Homeowners alike decorate their homes while people walk around to pick their favorites. The illumination walk takes place on Wednesday, July 3, and everyone has a chance to vote on their favorite home. The winner of the People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice will be announced on the Fourth of July

SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

Start the summer season on a high note with our outdoor Summer Concert Series happening every Friday evening from July 5 to August 30. This year’s lineup is the best we’ve ever head, including popular cover bands Eagle Eyes, Barracuda, and Petty Fever; legendary guitarist Jennifer Batten; as well as a host of other talented artists. All of the concerts are at Kucera Park and FREE to attend. Just bring your lawn chair, some blankets, your favorite snacks and kick back to some great entertainment.

BEST SUMMER ACTIVITIES AT SEABROOK

There’s no shortage of things to keep you busy during your trip to Seabrook.

STAND-UP PADDLE BOARDING

Stand up paddle boarding, or SUP, is one of the most thrilling activities you can do at Seabrook. Paddle boarding is a great exercise and anybody can do it, regardless of age and fitness level. It should only take first-timers about an hour to master paddle boarding. After that, the ocean is your oyster. For more information regarding paddle boarding or any water sports here at Seabrook, checkout Buck’s Bike where you can rent everything you’ll need for your ideal beach adventure.

SKIMBOARDING

While skimboard might be considered a subculture of surfing, the sport has ridden a wave of popularity over recent years. Today, well over 1 million people skimboard on 5-pound pintail-shaped boards made using carbon-fiber technology adapted from aerospace to achieve maximum lightness and buoyancy. If you’re looking to pick up a cool and physically challenging new beach hobby while you’re at Seabrook, then perhaps skimboarding could be right down your alley. Everything you’ll need to get out on the water you’ll be able to rent at Buck’s Bikes along Front St.

SUMMER YOGA

Are you a Yogi who is worried about not keeping up with your regular routine while your on vacation? Don’t stress. Get your flow on at our summer yoga series with certified yoga instructor Liz Grasher. On select weekends in June, July, and August, Liz will offer morning and evening sessions in Kucera Park overlooking the Pacific ocean.

BEACH TIME

Make snacks, pack the cooler, and lather on the sunscreen because it’s time to hit the beach for some summer fun. From building sandcastles and flying kites to splashing in the water and relaxing under the summer sun, the beach has plenty of options for you and your family. For the curious, comb the beach’s sand for hidden treasures, like unique shells, smooth sea glass or even a glass float (if you’re lucky!).

DRINKS, EATS, & TREATS

RED VELVET

Snickerdoodles, scones, cinnamon rolls – start your morning off by satisfy your craving for some yummy pastries from Red Velvet Bakery. Located on Meriweather Street in the heart of town, this cute bakery has an arrary of pastries and coffee on the menu. Don’t miss coffee and a cinnamon roll during your summer vacation at Seabrook

FRONTAGER’S PIZZA

What was once a food truck in a 1939 Chevrolet Farm Truck, Frontager’s Pizza is now permanently in a building at Seabrook, serving up Italian favorites and the most authentic pizza in all of Grays Harbor. What makes this place so great is they also have a few dishes that embrace the Pacific Northwest fare while making it their own. If you are craving seafood, pizza, and other Italian dishes, don’t miss out on Frontagers Pizza.

MILL 109

Mill 109 is where the unique fare of the Pacific Northwest meets homespun comfort. Serving up a wide variety of coastal dining dishes, the restaurant and pub is perfect for all meals of the day. The entire menu at Mill 109 is worthy of exploration, but there are six dishes which are classics along the coast of Washington State. From crabs to clams to salmon, if you love authentically local seafood, with a modern twist of incredible flavors, you’ll find it here.

FRONT STREET MARKET

There’s just something about summertime that makes us crave our favorite foods. Watermelon, potato salad, hamburgers and hotdogs, s’mores – find everything you need for your summer holiday at the Front Street Market. Before you head to the beach to roast hotdogs and make smores or prepare dinner in your vacation rental’s gourmet kitchen, drop into the market for freshest ingredients on the Washington coast. Don’t forget to grab a bottle of your favorite wine or six-pack of your favorite craft beer.

SWEET LIFE

Summer vacation isn’t complete until you’ve had an old-fashioned root beer float. The Sweet Life, located on Meriweather St. next to Frontager’s Pizza, serves up luscious, microbrewed root beer floats with root beer from Boyles and topped off with hand-crafted vanilla icream from Olympic Mountain Creamery. Ice cream and summer go together like bees and honey. So head over to the Sweet Life and get your summer on.
