The North Coast of Washington is about to get even sweeter, thanks to a new event at the community of Seabrook. Timed to coincide with the always impressive Chocolate on the Beach Festival, Seabrook’s “Sweetbrook” promises to be an amazingly indulgent experience. No matter what the weather, smiles, sweets and happiness abound, as it is always raining chocolate during the last week of February along the coast. Whether you live in Seattle, Tacoma, Vancouver or Portland, Sweetbrook is the chocolate lover’s can’t miss event you need to to add to your calendar in 2019.
Sweetbrook takes place on February 23rd, from 2-4pm at Seabrook and is part of the Chocolate on the Beach Festival. Stretching for 13 miles, from Copalis to Moclips, this year’s Chocolate on the Beach Festival is an annual celebration of all things chocolate along the North Beach of Grays Harbor. This year’s event is Sci-Fi themed and those involved are saying it will be out of this world. To best experience the 13 miles of chocolate, make Seabrook your basecamp. Here, you will not only give you access to Sweetbrook, but you’ll also be able to spend the weekend enjoying the mouthwatering variations of chocolate bliss all along the North Beach of Grays Harbor.

Decadent, delightful and delicious, Sweetbrook embraces the spirit of the Chocolate on the Beach Festival with the style and flair you come to expect from the community of Seabrook. On February 23rd, 2019 from 2-4pm, the main event for Sweetbrook will be an event hosted by local chocolatier David Klugh, featuring incredible chocolates and wines from the best winery’s in the region. All around Seabrook, for Sweetbrook and the Chocolate Festival, the restaurants and shops will be celebrating with the rest of the coast, hosting events and specials throughout the weekend. With so much planned for the end of February, this event promises to be the mouth watering experience that your tastebuds deserve.
CHOCOLATE ON THE BEACH FESTIVAL
For those calling Seabrook their basecamp for a winter beach vacation, the Chocolate on the Beach Festival kicks off on Saturday, February 23, at 10am with the opening of the Chocolate Hall of Sweets at nearby Pacific Beach Elementary. Featuring over 30 chocolatiers from the West Coast, as well as live demonstrations, seminars, samples, and a ton of activities, this event is the perfect appetizer before heading back down to Seabrook for Sweetbrook. Chocolate concoctions found at the vendor’s booths will satiate even the sweetest of teeth. Keep in mind that during this incredibly popular event, vendors may sell out quickly. Many years, vendors have sold completely out of their chocolates by Saturday afternoon! If you miss the opening of The Hall of Sweets, don’t worry! It is also open on Sunday, February 24, from 11am to 4pm.
BATTLE OF THE BEAN AND MORE EVENTS
The Chocolate on the Beach Festival has a few other fun events, like the Battle of The Bean. For this, coffee houses listed on an official ballot may receive votes for best chocolate hot drink, chocolate cold drink and barista. There are also two People’s Choice Awards, so your discerning taste will be put to work. You will help decide which local eateries have the best chocolate appetizer, entree and dessert. Those in attendance for the festival will also have a chance to be part of the Chocolate Cocktail Throwdown, helping decide which pubs and taverns have the best chocolate shot, chocolate martini, chocolate specialty drink and server.
Voting for these awards begins Thursday, February 21 at 4pm and continues through Sunday, February 24 at 12pm, when the winner will be announced in the Hall of Sweets.
